Serves 2
1 mango, peeled and chopped
2 cups (500 ml) purified water
½ cup (125 ml) kefir
2 tablespoons (30 ml) raw honey
2 tablespoons (30 ml) oat bran
1 teaspoon (5 ml) unrefined oil, such as apricot kernel, flax or organic coconut oil
1 tablespoon (15 ml) dried cranberries (optional)
½ cup (125 ml) ice cubes
Blend all the ingredients in a power blender until smooth.
(There is no clear scientific evidence that the blades of a blender will destroy the beneficial bacteria within the kefir. However, if it is a concern, the kefir could be gently mixed in with the rest of the ingredients after blending.)
